A.P. Moller-Maersk said it has agreed to sell to NorSea Group the core business activities of its Danbor unit, involved in logistics and services for the wind and oil and gas industries.
The sale is expected to be completed by the end of April.
Another Danbor’s subsidiary, Maersk H2S Safety Services A/S, which provides
safety services to the offshore industry, will become part of Maersk
Training.
Jakob Thomasen, a member of the Maersk executive board, said that while Danbor is a healthy and well-managed company, it is “not part of our
strategic focus and therefore deserves a dedicated owner who will be
able to develop the business further.”
Maersk has sold or announced plans to sell several businesses in recent months, including an interest in Dansk Supermarked Group and a fleet of 15 VLCCs to Euronav.
Danbor was established in 1974. It is an international company with 500 employees and sales in 2013 of more than 500 million Danish Krone ($92 million).
