MAERSK TO TAKE SLOTS ON MSC’S ATLANTIC SHIPS
Maersk Sealand plans to take slots on the transatlantic ships of Mediterranean Shipping Co. this winter.
A proposed slot charter agreement notified to the U.S. Federal Maritime Commission by both carriers will allow Maersk Sealand to charter slots on Mediterranean Shipping Co. ships operating between the U.S. East Coast and northern Europe until Jan. 31, 2002.
The carriers have requested expedited review by the FMC.
The Trans-Atlantic Conference Agremeent, to which both Maersk Sealand and Mediterranean Shipping Co. belong — recently announced a limited schedule reduction program during the forthcoming winter slack season.
