MARAD CREATES NEW ELECTRONIC EXIM BANK CARGO FORM

The U.S. Maritime Administration has created a new Web site to allow companies with Export-Import Bank-financed shipments to electronically file their monthly cargo reports to the agency.

“The newly created electronic form (Form F) not only eliminates having to submit paper copies of ocean bills of lading to MarAd, but also reduces the processing time,” the agency said.

MarAd’s Office of Cargo Preference is responsible for monitoring and ensuring compliance to the U.S. cargo preference laws and regulations. The laws are part of the overall statutory program to support the privately owned and operated U.S.-flag merchant marine.

The new Web site for Form F is at http://www.marad.dot.gov/exim. “In order to submit Form F, all of the fields must be completed and the ocean bill of lading, which supports the information, must be scanned and attached to the file,” MarAd said.
