MATSON INCREASES U.S. PACIFIC COAST/HAWAII RATES
Matson Navigation Co. has filed a 3.5-percent increase in rates for its U.S. Pacific Coast/Hawaii service, effective Feb. 14.
The increase was filed with the U.S. Surface Transportation Board.
Matson said that the increase is needed to help offset rises in operating costs and support ongoing investments.
C. Bradley Mulholland, president and chief executive officer, said that the 3.5-percent rate increase is consistent with Matson’s “longstanding philosophy of implementing modest, incremental increases as necessary.”
Matson’s last rate increase was 3.9 percent and was implemented last February.
