Melbourne gets first post-Panamax crane
The port of Melbourne today received its first ever post-Panamax crane, for installation at P&O Ports’ West Swanson dock terminal.
Melbourne port handled 1.85 million TEUs in 2004, up 13.4 percent over 2003. The port said it handles almost 40 percent of Australia’s container trade.
Earlier this month P&O Ports took delivery of the first of three post-Panamax container cranes at the port of Brisbane.
