Miami-Dade trade mission heads for Italy
A Miami-Dade County trade mission departs Friday to Asti, Italy, where participants will discuss potential trade links in industries ranging from food and beverages to heavy equipment.
The week-long trade mission is being sponsored by the county's Jay Malina International Trade Consortium, an agency that promotes international trade through the county. The Asti mission is also part of the agency's Sister Cities Program.
Asti is located in the Piedmont region of Italy. It is best known for its foods and wine, but also has heavy manufacturing and a significant apparel industry.
Members of the Miami-Dade delegation will be meeting with local political and business leaders, including Asti's versions of the Chamber of Commerce and local economic development agency, as well as individual businesses that have set up meetings based on the interests of individual participants.
