MOL (AMERICA) PICKS GT NEXUS FOR PRICING MANAGEMENT
MOL (America) Inc., the U.S.-based ocean carrier and logistics unit of Japan’s MOL Group, has selected GT Nexus Inc., an e-logistics technology company, to deploy and operate a technology platform for MOL’s customer pricing, rating and global contract management.
The contract calls for GT Nexus to provide a platform and software applications as a hosted, Web-based service for MOL’s container division.
MOL wanted the efficiency “of a collaborative network,” said John Gurrad, vice president for business planning and e-commerce for MOL America. “Many pricing and contract management solutions in use today were built when the industry was more highly regulated and, as a result, are out of step,” Gurrad said.
MOL is also a carrier-partner in GT Nexus, participating in the provider’s collaborative Web portal, along with APL, CP Ships, Crowley Liner Services, CSAV, Hanjin, Hyundai, “K” Line, NYK Line, Senator Lines, Wan Hai, Yang Ming and Zim Israel Navigation Co.
