MOL joins Asia-Mid East loop

Japanese liner carrier Mitsui O.S.K. Lines is scheduled to join Wan Hai and PIL’s jointly operated CMS service this week between Asia and the Middle East.

   Japanese liner carrier Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) is joining Wan Hai and PIL’s jointly operated CMS loop this week.
   MOL’s most recent online service schedules show it will join the CMS as a slot purchaser with the Oct. 13 departure of the Wan Hai 613 from Shanghai.
   The loop has a rotation of Shanghai, Ningbo, Kaohsiung, Shekou, Hong Kong, Singapore, Port Kelang, Jebel Ali, Bandar Abbas, Port Kelang, Singapore, Shekou and Shanghai.
   Ocean carrier schedule and capacity database BlueWater Reporting shows the CMS currently deploys six vessels with an average capacity of 5,761 TEUs. Currently, Wan Hai provides four vessels and PIL provides two vessels, while Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) purchases slots on the loop.
   MOL and OOCL and both members of the G6 Alliance, which also includes Hapag-Lloyd, NYK, APL and Hyundai Merchant Marine.
