MOL signs LNG charter agreement
A consortium of Tokyo-based Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Sumitomo Corp., and LNG Japan Corp. on Tuesday announced the signing of an agreement with Luxemburg-based Suez LNG Trading S.A. for a long-term charter of a new liquefied natural gas carrier.
In August, Suez LNG Trading S.A. signed a contract with Yemen LNG to purchase 2.5 million tons of LNG annually for 20 years, beginning in 2009. The new LNG carrier will transport that cargo from Yemen mainly to North America, under the ship management of MOL.
