MOL to merge Japanese agency companies
Tokyo-based Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. will merge two Japanese agency companies responsible for its container shipping activities.
Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (Japan) Ltd. has operated branches in Tokyo, Yokohama, Nagoya, Osaka and Kobe, while Kyushu Shipping Co. Ltd. has served Kyushu, Yamaguchi and Okinawa.
The two companies will be consolidated, effective July 1, to strengthen MOL’s container service sales force in Japan, the parent company said. The remaining company will be Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (Japan), Ltd. and will have about 350 employees.
