MOL TO REVISE ASIA/SOUTH AFRICA LINK
MOL will carry Asia/southern Africa cargoes on its Asia/South Africa/East Coast of South America service and Asia/West Africa services after withdrawing from the Safari consortium at the end of March.
The two services, already run in cooperation with P&O Nedlloyd, will be revised to accommodate cargoes moving between Asia and southern Africa.
A spokesman for MOL said their revised schedules had not been finalized.
P&O Nedlloyd will also use the two services to move southern African cargoes.
Safmarine, Maersk Sealand and Mediterranean Shipping Co., three former partners of P&O Nedlloyd and MOL in the Safari consortium, recently announced a plan to operate a joint three-carrier service in the Asia/southern Africa trade from next April.
