MSC starts 3rd North Europe/Med link
Mediterranean Shipping Co. will today start a third weekly string between North Europe and the Mediterranean.
The 1,384-TEU 'MSC Lea' is scheduled to make its first departure today from Felixstowe before calling Antwerp, Gemlik, Izmir and then back to the U.K. port.
The transit time from Felixstowe to Gemlik will be 10 days, while the Izmir to Felixstowe transit will be seven days.
'The three strings allow MSC unprecedented weekly access to ports in Greece, Turkey, and Syria and via the Black Sea to ports in Russia, Romania, Ukraine, Georgia and Bulgaria,' MSC UK said in a statement.
