MSC terminal in Bremerhaven starts operations

The “MSC Gate” joint venture terminal run by the German port group Eurogate and Mediterranean Shipping Co., the world’s second-largest container shipping line, started operations today.

The Swiss mega-carrier will run four feeder services from the new Bremerhaven terminal to move its mainline cargoes to and from ports in Scandinavia and the Baltic, Eurogate said. The first ship to be handled at the new terminal will be the “MSC Poland,” a feeder ship, due to berth at the MSC Gate quay today.
