NEDCARGO LAUNCHES ONLINE CONTAINER SHIPPING MARKETPLACE
NedCargo, a company based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, has launched an online container shipping marketplace.
The Internet marketplace, at www.nedcargo.com, will bring together shippers and providers of container shipping services and run online auctions, from Dec. 1.
The online marketplace, which follows the likes of gocargo.com, said that it will focus on the region around Rotterdam, Le Havre, Felixstowe and Hamburg.
Initially, NedCargo will deal mainly with spot shipments, but it plans to enable contract-type transactions later.
Henk Rootliep, the former chairman of the Royal Nedlloyd group, is an adviser to NedCargo.
