New multi-purpose ship for Rickmers-Linie
Rickmers-Linie, the German project liner and heavy lift shipping line, has named the “Rickmers New Orleans,” one of its nine new multi-purpose ships, in New Orleans, La.
The vessel, delivered to Rickmers-Linie in July, has joined the carrier’s round-the-world “Pearl String” service.
Identical to its sisterships, the “Rickmers New Orleans” is fitted with adjustable tweendecks, and has a heavy-lift capacity of up to 640 tons.
Rickmers-Line said its nine-strong fleet of new multi-purpose vessels will be complete when the “Rickmers Genoa” is delivered in late February.
