NEW WORLD ALLIANCE SWITCH CALLS AT ANTWERP, ADEN BETWEEN ASIA/EUROPE LINKS

From October, New World Alliance carriers APL, Hyundai Merchant Marine and MOL are switching calls at Antwerp and a westbound call at Aden from the fortnightly NEX service to the weekly CEX service in the Asia/Europe trade.

These developments coincide with the NEX service being reduced from a weekly to a fortnightly sailing. Chris Bourne, managing director MOL (Europe) Ltd., said the changes “are necessary because of the poor trading environments between Asia and Europe.”

He added that a feeder service is being added to cover Asian ports served by the NEX service, for the weeks that the NEX service is not in operation.

The NEX service, which started in June, will have a revised port rotation of Qingdao, Ningbo, Shanghai, Chiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Hamburg, Southampton, Singapore, Chiwan, Hong Kong, Qingdao, Ningbo and Shanghai.
