New York-New Jersey gives $50,000 to pollution study
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey Thursday approved a $50,000 grant to for the New York Academy of Sciences to continue a study looking at pollution in the New York and New Jersey harbor.
The study began in 1998 and seeks to identify and prioritize sources of contamination entering the harbor and the estuary and then develop plans to rapidly and effectively reduce or eliminate the pollutants, the authority said.
