NEW YORK-NEW JERSEY PORTS TO DEMOLISH BUILDINGS NEAR HOWLAND HOOK
The Port Authority of New York/New Jersey will demolish two structures on the former Procter and Gamble property on Staten Island, N.Y., Dec. 15, to prepare for construction of a new ship-to-rail facility at the Howland Hook Marine Terminal.
“A small section of Western Avenue from the gate to the Howland Hook Administration Building to Richmond Terrace will be closed on the morning of the demolition to insure public safety,” the port authority said. “Traffic on the Goethals Bridge will be stopped briefly during the demolition, but major delays are not expected.”
