NIT LEAGUE ELECTS HAYES CHAIRMAN
Members of the National Industrial Transportation League have elected Van L. Hayes Jr., chairman of the shippers organization.
Hayes is transportation manager for support services of the Vulcan Materials Co., of Birmingham, Ala.
Thomas R. Bakin, manager of logistics and travel for Allegheny Technologies, Pittsburgh, was elected first vice chairman. Thomas F. Pellington, transportation director of the David J. Joseph Co., Cincinnati was elected second vice chairman. Michael J. Barr, international services manager for Procter & Gamble, Cincinnati, was elected third vice chairman.
John Amos of Amos Logistics was appointed chairman of the League’s air transportation committee. Looman F. Stingo, of Holnam Inc., was appointed chairman of NIT League’s domestic waterways transportation committee. James Job, of the Sunbeam Corp., was appointed chairman of the League’s ocean transportation committee. Curt Warfel, of Eka Chemicals, was appointed chairman of NIT League’s rail transportation committee.
