NORASIA RESHUFFLES ASIA/PACIFIC SOUTHWEST LINKS
Norasia said that it will take space on transpacific services operated by Maersk Sealand and China Shipping Group.
The arrangements will replace the China California Service operated with Norasia vessels. The last sailing from Asia for the China California Service is this week.
Norasia said that the 1,400-TEU vessels previously employed in the China California Service will revert to their owners.
“In the interim period that Norasia sets up a replacement service, Norasia will buy committed slots from the Maersk TP2 service between Shanghai, Busan and Los Angeles, and and from the China Shipping Group Pacific Southwest service between Xiamen and Los Angeles/Vancouver,” a spokesman for Norasia said.
These interim measures will adequately cover the ports and markets currently offerred by the China California Service, the spokesman said.
