Norasia, Wan Hai, CMA CGM confirm launch of China/California service
Norasia said Wednesday it will go ahead with the planned launch in early June of a joint Eastern China/California container service operated jointly with Wan Hai and CMA CGM.
The “Shanghai Express” service will provide a transit time of 13 days from Shanghai to Los Angeles.
It will call at the Chinese ports of Fuqing (pronounced Foo-cho), Ningbo, Shanghai, Pusan, Los Angeles, Oakland and Fuqing.
A spokesman for Wan Hai said the date of the first sailing and the vessels to be used would be finalized next week. The service is expected to use ships of about 3,000-TEU capacities.
The three shipping lines have already filed a related vessel-sharing agreement with the U.S. Federal Maritime Commission.
