Nordana switches Spain calls
Danish ocean carrier Nordana Line is replacing direct calls at Barcelona with calls at Tarragona, Spain on its U.S./Mediterranean/North Coast South America/Central America/Mexico/U.S. S-service.
The multipurpose vessel “Schackenborg” will make the maiden call at Tarragona May 15. Nordana said the Tarragona terminal offers “ample storage space for all types of break-bulk cargoes and rolling stock ' The infrastructure is also optimized to avoid any delays in cargo delivery whether made by truck or rail.” The carrier said it will continue to accept containers for loading from the port of Barcelona.
The S-service uses four ships averaging 566 TEUs with a sailing frequency of every 18 days. The revised port rotation is Houston; Savannah, Ga.; Baltimore; Mostaganem, Algeria; Valencia; Tarragona; Genoa; Piraeus; Alexandria, Egypt; Beirut; Mersin; Leghorn; Genoa; Fos; Tarragona; Valencia; La Guaira; Puerto Cabello; Rio Haina; Santo Tomas de Castilla; Veracruz, Mexico; and back to Houston.
Nordana said the new call at Tarragona “is related to an ongoing service restructuring plan which, over the next coming months, will further enhance the port coverage and frequency offered.”
