North Europe/Med carriers raise rates
The Europe/Mediterranean Trade Agreement, a conference of shipping lines in the North Europe/Mediterranean trade, plans to increase rate for shipments between North Europe and Israel.
Rates southbound will increase by $100 per TEU from Oct. 7. Northbound the increase will be $50 per TEU, effective Dec. 1.
“Lines’ operating costs to and from Israel continue to increase significantly, particularly with regard to vessel operation and charter party arrangements,” the conference said.
Europe/Mediterranean Trade Agreement member lines are Ellerman, Iscont Lines Ltd., Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha Ltd., Mediterranean Shipping Co., Maersk Sealand, Navigation Maritime Bulgare (Bulcon), P&O Nedlloyd Ltd., Safmarine, Turkon Lines and Zim Israel Navigation Co. Ltd.
