North Europe/Mediterranean carriers to raise rates
Shipping lines of the Europe/Mediterranean Trade Agreement will be seeking higher freight rates effective Jan. 1, for northbound cargoes, and March 1, for southbound shipments.
The increases apply to trades between north Europe and Greece, Turkey and the Levant.
Rates northbound to northwest Continental Europe, Scandinavia and the Baltic will rise by 75 euros ($88) per TEU, and rates to the U.K. will go up by '50 ($85) per TEU.
Rates southbound from the northwest Continent, Scandinavia and the Baltic will rise by 100 euros ($118) per TEU, with '70 ($119) per TEU from the U.K.
Europe/Mediterranean Trade Agreement carriers are Armada, Bulcon, CMA CGM, Contazline, Ellerman, Hamburg Sud, Iscont Lines, “K” Line, Maersk Sealand, Mediterranean Shipping Co., P&O Nedlloyd, Safmarine, Senator Lines, Turkon Lines, and Zim Israel Navigation Co.
