NYK e-commerce now covers intra-Asia
Nippon Yusen Kaisha has extended the use of its e-commerce applications to include all the intra-Asia container shipments of Tokyo Senpaku Kaisha, its 100-percent intra-Asia subsidiary, effective yesterday.
NYK said that Tokyo Senpaku Kaisha’s services “feature exceptionally short transit times, large number of bookings and bills of lading, even more than in other trade lanes.” Tokyo Senpaku Kaisha carried 800,000 TEUs last year, about one-third of the container volume of the NYK of 2.4 million TEUs.
NYK said that any customer with a user ID for NYK e-commerce applications can also use the application for Tokyo Senpaku Kaisha using the same user ID. Customers can also register online at www.nykline.com to request an ID.
NYK is now enhancing e-commerce applications to support its Central & South America and Africa container businesses, which represent a volume of 170,000 TEUs. Once this is completed, customers will be able to use its e-commerce applications for all their container business within the NYK group.
NYK’s current e-commerce service applications include B/L processing, exception reporting, booking, rate inquiry, cargo tracing, schedules, container tracking, shipment detail, customized reports, shipment summary, cut-off/availability, shipping instructions, and event notification.
