OMI PUTS NEW 70,100 DEADWEIGHT TON TANKER UNDER TIME CHARTER
OMI Corp., a Stamford, Conn.-based international tanker operator, has taken delivery of a new 70,100 deadweight ton product tanker carrier and time chartered it for five years to a subsidiary of BP.
The vessel, “Ottawa,” was built by Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co. A sister vessel scheduled for delivery in July will also commence a five year time charter to BP.
OMI’s tanker fleet comprises 38 vessels.
