OOCL ADDS 3RD VESSEL, PORTS TO SCAN BALTIC EXPRESS SERVICE

   Orient Overseas Container Line said Wednesday it will add a third larger vessel to its Scan Baltic Express service, starting in May.

   OOCL will add a 860-TEU vessel to the service, which has operated with two 600-TEU vessels since April 1999.

   The third vessel will allow for an additional weekly call in St. Petersburg, and for other additional Baltic port calls, based in shippers' needs. The revised rotation, effective May 21, will be Antwerp, Thamesport, Hamburg, Gdansk, St. Petersburg, Gdansk, Hamburg, Hamina, St. Petersburg, Hamburg, Antwerp.

   In addition to intra-European traffic, the service carries OOCL deep-sea cargoes to and from Poland, Finland and Russia with relay at Hamburg and Thamesport.
