OOCL, MISC REVISE EUROPE COORDINATED SERVICES
Orient Overseas Container Line and Malaysia International Shipping Corp. said Friday they have realigned their service between European ports in order to improve relay links with services to and from Asia and North America.
The five MISC/OOCL vessels currently serving the Iberia Scan Express (ISX) and Scan Baltic Express (SBX) services will be deployed into three services:
* ISX, using MISC's 737-TEU vessels 'Bunga Mas 9' and 'Bunga Mas 10,' to provided fixed-day weekly sailings on a port rotation of Gothenburg, Rotterdam, Southampton, Bilbao, Leixoes, Lisbon, Bilbao, Southampton, Rotterdam, Larvik and Gothenburg. The 'Bunga Mas 9' departs Larvik Feb. 5.
* SBX1, using OOCL's 860-TEU ice-class vessels 'OOCL Neva' and 'OOCL Nevskiy,' providing fixed-day weekly sailings on a rotation of Rotterdam, Gdansk, Hamina, St. Petersburg, Hamburg, Grangermouth, Antwerp and Rotterdam. The 'OOCL Neva' departs Grangermouth Feb. 2.
* SBX2, using OOCL's 600-TEU ice-lass vessel 'OOCL' Narva,' providing as weekly service between Hamburg, St. Petersburg, Gdansk and Hamburg. The ship departs Hamburg Feb. 24.
The new rotations are also expected to provide more coverage of Russia, as well as adding new direct calls at Grangermouth, Scotland, and Larvik, Norway.
