The Hong Kong-based ocean carrier is expanding its Southeast India service network with the new Far East Chennai Service 2 (FCS2), which will connect China and Southeast Asia with the Indian ports of Chennai and Kattupalli, OOCL said.
Hong Kong-based ocean carrier OOCL will in January debut a new service connecting China and Southeast Asia with India.
The new Far East Chennai Service 2 (FCS2) route, which will offer direct connections between China and Southeast Asia and Southeast India, is aimed at expanding OOCL’s current service portfolio in the country, OOCL said Dec. 21.
The scheduled port rotation for the FCS2 loop is Shanghai, Ningbo, Hong Kong, Shekou, Singapore, Port Kelang (West and North Port), Chennai, Kattupalli, Port Kelang (North Port), Singapore, and Shanghai. OOCL did not disclose the number or size of vessels it expects to deploy on the service.
“Together with our recently launched FCS service, OOCL will be able to offer two weekly sailings with a more comprehensive coverage between Far East and India,” the company said in a statement.
The FCS2 is scheduled to commence Jan. 23 from Shanghai, OOCL said.
