Pacer reports lower 3Q profit

Pacer International said it had a profit of $1.1 million in the third quarter ending Sept. 30, compared to $6.6 million in the same 2011 period.
Revenues were also down – $348.9 million in the the third quarter of 2012, compared to $375.8 million in the third quarter of 2011.
The company noted income was lower because of a sale of railcar assets in the third quarter of 2011 and a reduction in volume from an ocean carrier customer.
