Panama Canal official named most innovative
Dr. Ricaurte V'squez Morales, the chairman of the Panama Canal Authority board of directors and the concurrent minister for canal affairs, was honored as the 'most Innovative Leader' in the Latin American business community at the 12th annual Latin Trade Bravo Business Awards Friday in Coral Gables.
The recipient of the award is selected from Latin American leaders in government, business, finance and technology, as well as experts in environmental and humanitarian fields.
'I am greatly humbled by this award. I share this with the many hard-working employees of the Canal. Each day we work hard to reap greater benefits for the Panamanian people. With the recent national referendum, we have received a clear mandate for Canal expansion from the people of Panama, and we are prepared and ready for the task ahead,' he said when he received the award.
