Panamanian government to inspect U.S. food safety system
Panamanian government officials are expected to visit the United States soon for a review of the country’s food safety inspection system, according to the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative.
“We believe this visit will give the Panamanian government an even greater comfort level with our regulatory system and the safety of U.S. food,” said U.S. Chief Agricultural Negotiator Richard T. Crowder in a statement.
Panama has the right to inspect the U.S. food safety system under the World Trade Organization’s Agreement on the Application of Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures.
