PAUL F. CONNOR SR. DIES

Paul F. Connor Sr., chairman of John S. Connor Inc., died after a long battle with lung cancer on June 12.

   Connor joined Baltimore-based freight forwarder and customs broker 50 years ago. For the past 10 years, he served as the firm’s chairman. His father John S. Connor started the company in 1917.

   In addition, Connor served as first president of the Maryland Maritime Association and president of the Maritime Exchange. He was also an active member of the Propeller Club of Baltimore and the National Customs Brokers and Forwarders Association of America.

   Connor’s nephew, Louis G. Connor Jr., has been president John S. Connor since 1991.
