PBB to provide expertise on FDA rules
PBB Global Logistics said it will offer specialized services to help agricultural shippers get their products into the United States after the Food and Drug Administration's new rules on food security go into effect late this year.
The FDA will require food facilities worldwide to register with the FDA and to provide prior notice of food imports by electronic means.
Ontario-based PBB said it can process registrations with the FDA on behalf of its food industry customers as well as help companies establish systems and procedures to comply with the reporting requirements.
PBB is expanding its customs brokerage business to include all aspects of third-party logistics management, as well as its presence in the food distribution arena. Last week it announced the acquisition of a third-party logistics provider to the food industry.
