Pilot Air Freight says enhanced services driving growth
Pilot Air Freight president and chief executive officer Richard G. Phillips said its Special Services product helped drive revenue growth during the second quarter.
Pilot said second quarter revenue increased 7.8 percent to $72.9 million. International revenue was up 19.3 percent to $14.0 million.
'In the first half of this year, our Special Services product helped drive revenues in the business-to-business sector for shipments that required white-glove handling. Our International Services have also been a contributing factor to our growth, and our affiliation with the World Freight Alliance has enabled us to maintain a competitive advantage in the global marketplace. Overall, Pilot maintained strong gains across all facets of our business, and we expect this to continue throughout the second half of 2005.'
'For the quarter, Pilot said it handled 211,108 shipments totaling 113.3 million pounds.
