PM&O Line suspends operations amid financial troubles
Financial troubles have forced San Francisco-based Philippines, Micronesia & Orient Navigation Co. (PM&O Line) to suspend operations on its monthly Micronesia service and close its Los Angeles office.
A spokesman at PM&O Line’s headquarters confirmed to American Shipper that it has been suffering financial problems over the past two to three months, and that one vessel has not moved from Honolulu since Aug. 21, while its second vessel has remained in Hong Kong since Sept. 27.
PM&O Line’s Micronesia service had used two 714-TEU vessels with a port rotation of: Honolulu, Oakland, Long Beach, Pago Pago (American Samoa), Apia (Western Samoa), Majuro, Ebeye, Kosrae, Pohnpei, Chuuk, Hong Kong, Kaohsiung, Manila, Cebu (Philippines), Chuuk, Pohnpei, Majuro, Honolulu, Oakland and Long Beach.
