P&O NEDLLOYD ADDS 6,800-TEU VESSEL TO FLEET
The containership “P&O Houtman” formally joined the P&O Nedlloyd fleet at a naming ceremony in Kwai Chung, Hong Kong.
The 6,800-TEU vessel was named after Cornelis de Houtman, a 16th century explorer. It is the third of four new whale-class vessels entering Europe/Asia service this year.
Built by Hyundai Heavy Industries in Korea, the ship is 300 meters long, 43 meters wide and has a service speed of 24.5 knots.
