P&O Nedlloyd joins 8,000-TEU ship bandwagon
P&O Nedlloyd is the latest container shipping line to order vessels of more than 8,000-TEU capacity.
The Dutch carrier said Thursday that it has signed a contract with Hyundai Heavy Industries for the building of five container vessels of 8,600-TEU, due to be delivered between May and November 2008.
They will be “a significant addition to P&O Nedlloyd’s fleet,” the carrier said.
