P&O NEDLLOYD JOINS NEW ASIA/CARIBBEAN/U.S. EAST COAST SERVICE
P&O Nedlloyd said that it is introducing a direct service between Asia, the Caribbean and the U.S. East Coast by joining the recently-announced joint service of CMA CGM and China Shipping Group, due to commence on April 6.
P&O Nedlloyd said that the new link will strengthen its position in the Asia/Caribbean trade, as the direct service will replace its former transshipment operations.
The weekly service has a rotation of New York; Norfolk; Savannah; Kingston, Jamaica; Cristobal (Panama); Busan; Qingdao; Shanghai; Yantian; Hong Kong; Kingston; Cristobal; New York; Norfolk and Savannah.
P&O Nedlloyd will operate three of the nine vessels of the service.
For the Anglo-Dutch carrier, the service will be a second weekly all-water link between Asia and the U.S. East Coast via the Panama Canal.
P&O Nedlloyd also operates the “PAX” service in cooperation with other lines of the Grand Alliance.The “PAX” link has a rotation of Kaohsiung, Hong Kong, Kobe, Nagoya, Seattle, Oakland, Balboa, Manzanillo (Panama), Savannah, Norfolk, New York, Halifax, Antwerp, Thamesport, Bremerhaven, Rotterdam, Halifax, New York, Norfolk, Savannah, Manzanillo, Los Angeles, Oakland, Yokohama, Kobe and Kaohsiung.
