P&O NEDLLOYD, MOL ADD SHIP TO ASIA/SOUTH AFRICA/SOUTH AMERICA ROUTE
P&O Nedlloyd and MOL are adding an 11th ship to their Asia/South Africa/East Coast South America service in mid-December.
P&O Nedlloyd said that the ship will be added to maintain schedule reliability.
“This will provide the required contingency in the schedule that ensures customers are serviced with a reliable product, despite the port congestion that shipping lines are currently faced with in ports such as Durban,” P&O Nedlloyd said.
The service rotation will remain unchanged, but vessels will be scheduled with a round-voyage rotation of 77 days instead of 70 days previously.
P&O Nedlloyd commented that the 11th vessel itself does not add capacity to the trade, as service frequency will remain unchanged.
