P&O NEDLLOYD TO SWITCH CONTAINERSHIPS TO BRITISH FLAG

   P&O Nedlloyd has reflagged the 4,400-TEU containership Peninsular Bay
from the Bahamas to the British register, the first of 50 ships to be reflagged by the
P&O group.
   The Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Co., the 50-percent owner of
P&O Nedlloyd, said that it will bring at least 50 ships onto the British register.
   The reflagging decision follows last month’s announcement by the British
government that it will introduce a tonnage tax relief for British shipping.
