POLAR AIR ADDS 15th FREIGHTER
Polar Air Cargo, a California-based all-cargo airline owned by GE Capital Aviation Services, has added its 15th B747-200 freighter to its fleet.
The plane is under long-term lease from AeroUSA. It brings the number of B747-200s in Polar’s fleet to six. The rest are B747-100s. Three new generation B747-400 freighters, on lease from GE Capital, are scheduled for delivery in October and November.
“Polar is making substantial investments in many areas to improve customer service and operational performance,” said Eric Dull, chief executive officer and chairman of the airline. “The aircraft being added to the fleet this year will allow us to increase frequencies and enhance our reliability.”
