PORT OF BALBOA TERMINAL HANDLES RECORD CONTAINER VOLUME
Panama Ports Co., S.A., the container terminal on the Pacific coast of Panama, said that it has handled its highest ever container volume from a single vessel: 1,784 container moves.
The high volume was handled during the call of the “Maersk Marit” on Oct. 14.
The port of Balboa is located at the Pacific entrance of the Panama Canal, serving as a transshipment hub for cargo to and from Asia or the West Coast of Latin America. Panama Ports is owned by Hong Kong-based global terminal operator Hutchison Port Holdings.
