PORT OF BEAUMONT REORGANIZES MANAGEMENT
The Port of Beaumont is reorganizing its management staff, effective Sept. 1, said Chris Fisher, executive director. The moves are aimed at streamlining port management staff and to improve efficiencies in operations, administration and customer service.
Bill Carpenter, the port's director of operations since 1993, will become deputy port director and will be responsible to the executive director for port operations, capital improvement and construction projects, maintenance, security and general administration. He has been with the port since 1978.
Ernest Bezdek, the port's manager of trade development, will become director of trade development and will be responsible for the port's strategic marketing.
John Roby, transportation manager, is being named director of logistics and public affairs. He will be responsible for transportation and logistics issues and will serve as the port's public and legislative affairs officer.
Kirby Dartez, currently dock superintendent, is being named director of operations. Levelle Lemonier, human resources manager, will become manager of finance and human resources.
