Port of Hamburg’s TEUs up 10.7% after six months

   Container traffic at the German port of Hamburg increased 10.7 percent to 4.2 million TEUs in the first half of the year, compared to 3.8 million TEUs in the same period in 2005.

   The port said it enjoyed strong growth in China/Far East traffic and in the Baltic Sea trade.

   For the first six months of the year, volume at Hamburg’s general cargo and bulk terminals rose 9.7 percent to 66,2 million tons.
