Port of Houston bolstering security contract
The Port of Houston Authority said Thursday it plans to add $2.5 million to its security contract with Battelle Memorial Institute for participation in Customs and Border Protection's Radiation Portal Monitor Project.
The additional money would be used for the addition of the Bayport program. Battelle already covers other PHA terminals, including Barbours Cut and the Turning Basin.
A formal vote by the port commissioners is scheduled for Monday.
