PORT OF JACKSONVILLE APPOINTS EXECUTIVES
The Port of Jacksonville has appointed Roy Schleicher as senior director of trade development, marketing and public relations, and Ron Baker as chief information officer.
The appointments are in anticipation of the port authority spinning of its airports into a separate agency, effective Oct. 1. The port authority then will focus solely on managing Jacksonville's public seaports.
Schleicher, director of marketing at the Port of Baltimore, will be responsible for all facets of trade development, marketing and public relations. He will deploy a strategic marketing plan to bring new business to the port.
Baker, who has been with the Jacksonville Electric Authority since 1990, serving as chief financial officer and CIO, will be responsible for all port finance and administrative offices.
Both appointments take effect by Oct. 1.
