Port of Long Beach’s TEUs flat in September
Container throughput at the Port of Long Beach in September rose just 0.7 percent to 614,739 TEUs, compared to 610,269 TEUs in the same month last year.
Import container volume at Long Beach increased 1.3 percent to 317,661 TEUs while exports rose 1.7 percent to 98,660 TEUs. Empty containers in September were down 0.7 percent to 198,418 TEUs.
After nine months, the total number of containers shipped through the Californian port has risen 9.2 percent to 5.41 million TEUs, from 4.95 million TEUs in the comparable period 2005.
