Port of Los Angeles appoints Mathewson planning director
The port of Los Angeles has promoted David Mathewson to director of planning and environmental affairs. Mathewson will be responsible for the port’s environmental management, planning and research and mitigation.
He has worked with the port of Los Angeles for 23 years, the last two as director of planning and research.
The port has also hired Arley M. Baker as its new director of public affairs. Baker will oversee news bureau and public relations operations for the port, working closely with the harbor commission, City of Los Angeles and various government, community and business organizations.
Baker comes to the port of Los Angeles from L.A.-based Rogers & Cowan, where he is vice president of the agency’s corporate/consumer group.
The port’s current director of public affairs, Julia Nagano, will assume the position of director of corporate communications.
