PORT OF MIAMI REPORTS GROWTH IN TONNAGE, TEUS

Port of Miami reports growth in tonnage, TEUs

   The Port of Miami continued a trend of double-digit cargo growth in February, with container volume climbing 18.7 percent to 75,537 TEUs.

   Exports jumped 26.9 percent to 37,464 TEUs while imports rose 11.6 percent to 38,073 TEUs. Total cargo volume rose 24.4 percent to 671,674 tons.

   For the first five months of the port's fiscal year, container volume is up 16.9 percent to 395,501 TEUs. Exports are up 20.5 percent to 195,313 TEUs while imports rose 13.6 percent to 200,188 TEUs. Total cargo volume is up 13.1 percent, to 3.42 million tons.
